An ORC turbine (Organic Rankine Cycle) can recover heat from several different sources and convert part of the thermal energy into climate friendly electricity. The result is lower operating costs and a short payback time.
A simple way to reduce operating costs
Since 2013, Againity has developed and installed ORC turbines that convert heat into electricity. The modular ORC turbine can easily be combined with a waste heat recovery unit connected to a gas turbine or diesel engine. This increases the overall efficiency of the system while reducing fuel consumption and operating costs.
In facilities with simple gas turbines or diesel engines, 55–70 percent of the fuel energy is often lost as excess heat in the exhaust gases. Exhaust gas temperatures typically range between 350–550 °C, making them an excellent energy source for Againity’s ORC systems and enabling highly efficient and cost effective electricity generation.
