Finspångs Teknisk Verk AB

Finspångs Tekniska Verk AB – Finspång, Sweden (450 kW)

Background

Finspångs Tekniska Verk AB owns the district heating plant in Finspång, which supplies the town with district heating. The plant includes a waste-to-energy facility, where residual waste remaining after material recycling is treated and incinerated in a 10 MW waste-fired boiler. With a strong focus on climate-friendly processes and the ambition to further develop a sustainable energy system, Finspångs Tekniska chose to invest in an ORC turbine.

Our solution

Againity delivered an automated ORC system with a maximum electrical capacity of 450 kW. The ORC system enables electricity production from the hot water of the heating boiler. In total, the system is expected to produce 2,490 MWh annually, corresponding to emission reductions of 2,200 tonnes of CO₂ equivalents when replacing European marginal electricity.
