ETC Solpark – Katrineholm, Sweden (49.9 kW)
Background
ETC Solpark is one of Sweden’s largest solar parks, with a capacity of 400 kW. The solar park is owned by ETC El and is located in Katrineholm. In 2017, a decision was made to complement the solar park with a combined heat and power plant connected to a greenhouse for tomato cultivation. The facility includes two heat sources consisting of concentrating solar collectors and a biochar boiler. These heat sources are connected to an ORC system that produces electricity and hot water for the adjacent greenhouse. The plant also includes a thermal storage tank to balance energy production over the course of the day.
Our Solution
Againity delivered an automated 49.9 kW ORC system including flue gas heat exchanger, hot water tank and cooling system. The system produces electricity and heat for the adjacent greenhouse.
